Grinnell Mutual Receives National Marketing Awards

Grinnell Mutual has been recognized with two national marketing awards from the Insurance Marketing and Communications Association (IMCA).  IMCA is a professional industry association representing more than 120 companies, including the top five property casualty writers, whose collective membership represents the insurance and financial services industries throughout the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Bermuda.

Recipients of the awards are Dawn Sly-Terpstra, Manager Marketing Services, Corporate Development, and Lori Smith, Sr. Marketing Services Specialist, Corporate Development, for the 2008 Annual Report (Annual Report -- Private Company) and Barb Baker, Manager Advertising and Community Relations, Corporate Development, for Grinnell Mutual’s on-hold messaging (Special Communications Campaign).

“This recognition demonstrates what a great year it has been for corporate marketing,” said Chief Operating Officer Steve Crawford.  “With our company brand firmly established, the fact that we have been able to tie our message into different communications projects demonstrates the effectiveness of the brand.”

Grinnell Mutual also received honorable mention for its Core Development Series.  The Core Development Series, a series of classes based on Grinnell Mutual’s core values designed for employees and managers, was recognized for Company Employee Communications and Special Communications Campaigns.

“This is a great honor,” said Susan Pickens, assistant vice president of Corporate Development. “We are competing with the big players and being recognized as leaders in marketing.”
