Sheeler to serve on CPCU Society boards
Wade Sheeler, CPCU, CIC, corporate risk manager for Grinnell Mutual Reinsurance Company, joined the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters (CPCU) Society Board of Directors and the associated CPCU – Loman Education Foundation Board of Directors during the Society’s 66th annual meeting held in Orlando, Fla., in late September. The CPCU Society is an international organization of credentialed insurance professionals committed to promoting excellence in the insurance industry through ethical behavior and continuing education. More than 28,000 members who have earned the prestigious CPCU designation belong to the CPCU Society, while the CPCU Loman Education Foundation helps fund insurance education.
Sheeler, who will serve a one year term as a CPCU Society director and a two year term as a CPCU Loman-Foundation director, has been an active member of the CPCU Society on both a local and national level for 15 years. Most recently, Sheeler served on the National Board of Governors from 2007-2010, working with five local CPCU chapters in Minnesota, Nebraska and South Dakota.
In 2006-2007, he served as the president of the Iowa Chapter of CPCU. He has also served on and chaired several committees at both national and state levels. In 2009, the Iowa Chapter of CPCU honored Sheeler with the CPCU Excellence Award.
