Education – the key to success
The professionalism of your staff and your agents is important to you.  That’s why Grinnell Mutual provides educational training and resources to its FarMutual® members and agents. From training for farm mutual staff to certified continuing education courses for agents, Grinnell Mutual’s educational program has been an important benefit to our members since 1969.

Training tools for farm mutuals
Grinnell Mutual hosts a variety of topics appropriate for mutual managers, adjusters, inspectors, and loss control staff.  Mutual manager schools, held at the Grinnell Mutual home office, include seminars on:

  • Mutual management
  • Liability underwriting
  • Strategic business planning
  • Reinsurance
  • Co-op advertising program
  • Mutual and agency automation

Agency schools
Continuing education (CE) schools provide timely and practical information that satisfy professional continuing education requirements.  Approximately 20 schools are held each year throughout Grinnell Mutual’s states of operation.

While each state has different licensing requirements for agents, Grinnell Mutual works closely with each state’s insurance department to keep course filings current.

Online University
For those looking to learn within the comforts of home or office, Grinnell Mutual offers its Online University.  In partnership with WebCE, a nationwide provider of continuing education for agents and brokers, your agents can enjoy easy access to online classes for a reasonable price.  Available for general training or CE credits, the Online University is just another benefit of being a FarMutual member.
