Verne Cadwell, Vice President of Crop Insurance

Verne Cadwell joined Grinnell Mutual in 1995 and was named vice president in 2011. During his career here, Cadwell has served as claims manager for the Crop Hail Division. Cadwell has taught loss procedures at numerous NCIS (National Crop Insurance Services) crop hail schools held at Iowa State University and the University of Minnesota research farm. He was also the liaison for Iowa State University’s research farm’s soybean node cut-off research. The results of this research have changed NCIS soybean loss adjusting procedures. Cadwell is a member of the NCIS Crop Hail/Policy, Procedure, and Loss Adjustment committee.

In his community, Cadwell has served through his leadership of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod as vice president, president, controller, church council, and elder.

Cadwell graduated with a Farm Mechanic associate degree from the Western Iowa Tech Community College. He and his wife Denise live at Lake Ponderosa southeast of Grinnell.
