Chris Hansen, Chief Financial Officer, Vice President of Finance, and Treasurer
Chris Hansen came to Grinnell Mutual in 1999 as an internal auditor. He began his accounting career in 1996 in public accounting with Mosebach, Griffith & Company, followed by a position at McGladrey & Pullen.
During his career at Grinnell Mutual, Hansen has served as internal auditor, senior auditor, Director of Audit Services and Chief Audit Executive. He was named as a vice president in 2014. He is involved in the accounting and auditing industries, serving on the Membership and Member Benefits Committee of the ISCPA and serving on the Institute of Internal Auditors Board of Directors.
Hansen has served his community through his volunteerism by serving as a board member and Treasurer of Grinnell Community Day Care & Preschool, Grinnell-Newburg Educational Excellence, and the Greater Poweshiek Community Foundation. He was also the co-founder of the non-profit organization Iowa Intensity Youth Sports, Inc., and was a participant of the Poweshiek Leadership Program.
Hansen graduated with a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Northern Iowa and received his Masters of Business Administration from the University of Iowa while working at Grinnell Mutual. He holds the Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designations. He and his wife, Jodi, have two children and live at Lake Ponderosa outside Montezuma, Iowa.
